Brooksville Train Depot Ghost Hunt
A conductor died in a duel on this dock in 1906. He has not been quiet since.
The Brooksville Train Depot was built in 1885 at the height of Florida's railroad era — welcoming steam engines, weary travelers, and railroad workers moving through the region. The depot sits next to the grounds of an old schoolhouse, across the street from a haunted-looking historic house whose previous owner investigators suspect may still travel back and forth between the properties after dark. Nothing about this location feels settled once the sun goes down.
Silent Slayer has investigated the Brooksville Train Depot multiple times. A music box activated almost on demand during an Estes Method session — investigator Cynthia Dominick said "ready, set, go," guest Scott said "here I come," and the music box went off. A FLIR thermal camera captured an iron artifact that appeared to be radiating heat with no heat source present. The depot is filled with railroad-era artifacts and original fixtures. The old firetruck on the property has drawn its own responses. Two of the most documented spirits connected to this location are Mr. Higginbotham, a powerful lumber dealer, and Mr. Hicks, a railroad conductor whose fatal duel on the depot dock in 1906 became one of the site's most enduring legends.
